This lovely antique Edwardian ring was made representing the Suffragette movement and dated 1917.
The piece is decorated with two green 0.15ct Peridots, two white Pearls and a violet 0.25ct Amethyst.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The ring is set in 18ct Yellow Gold and complete with clear hallmarks on the inside of the shank.
A pretty Suffragette piece that sits beautifully on the finger.
